Want to run the 1/2 marathon or 5k, but don’t know how to train for it? We’ve got you covered. We’ve partnered with Latitude Pure Coaching to help you prepare for the New Balance Palm Desert 1/2 Marathon & 5k. Choose between our free 12-week 1/2 marathon training plan or 8-week 5k training plan, and custom plans for both distances.

FREE TRAINING PLANS

You read that right. Latitude Pure Coaching is providing each of our participants with free training plans for both the 1/2 marathon and 5k. This general plan will be uploaded directly to your Training Peaks calendar (additional signup required at no charge), where you can check your schedule and keep track of your workouts. These plans are perfect for first time or new runners who have never followed a training plan before, and for experienced runners who are looking for more structure in their training, but aren’t ready for a custom plan. The 12-week 1/2 marathon plan starts on Monday, November 26 (last day to sign up is Sunday, December 9), and the 8-week 5k plan starts on Monday, December 24 (last day to sign up is Sunday, January 6).

CUSTOM TRAINING PLANS

Latitude Pure Coaching is offering discounted plans that allows you to customize for your fitness level, goals, and life schedule. With either 1/2 marathon or 5k custom plans, you’ll receive:

  • Initial survey and consultation to assess your goals and schedule to create the perfect plan for you
  • Plans uploaded to Training Peaks calendar (additional signup required at no charge), where you can check your schedule and upload your progress
  • Regular email check-in and correspondence with coaches to adjust your schedule and answer questions you might have

Because each runner is different and these plans are created to fit your needs, sign ups for these plans will continue through the end of online registration. Custom plans are $49.99 for the 1/2 marathon, and $29.99 for the 5k.

SIGN UP THROUGH IMATHLETE

How do you sign up for our training plans? Easy.

  • If you have not registered for the 1/2 marathon or 5k yet, click HERE. After filling in your registration information, you’ll be taken to our online store, where you can choose from the free or custom plan for your distance.
  • If you have previously registered for the 1/2 marathon or 5k, click HERE. On the event overview page, click the Store tab and the Get it! button next to the plan you want. On the pop up screen that appears, check the box next to Add this to my New Balance Palm Desert 1/2 Marathon & 5k Registration. Enter the confirmation number for your registration in the box below and click Search. Select your registration from the Select Registration drop down, then click Add Item.
